Health minister denounces Israeli army shooting at a Jenin hospital, saying it endangered life of patients, staff

Minister of Health Mai Alkaila today strongly denounced the Israeli army shooting at Khalil Suleiman government hospital in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, saying it endangered the life of patients and staff.

She said that this is not the first time soldiers shoot directly at hospitals in the occupied territories in blatant violation of international law that calls for protecting them even in times of war and conflict.

The director of the hospital, Wissam Bakr, said the bullets penetrated the windows of the children’s nursing changing room and the meeting room for pediatricians.

He said it was a miracle that none of the pediatric patients and medical staff was hurt.

A large Israeli arm force raided Jenin and its refugee camp this morning where it killed two Palestinians, one of them a 57-year-old father of six children, and injured three others.
