Iranian ballistic missile testing acknowledged – US

Spokesperson of the US Department of State Mathew Miller Thursday confirmed that Iranian ballistic missile testing has been acknowledged.

During a press briefing, Miller said, “we are aware of those reports. We’ve seen them, obviously. As we have made clear, Iran’s development and proliferation of ballistic missiles poses a serious threat to regional and international security and remains a significant nonproliferation challenge.” He added that despite restriction based on the US Security Council’s Resolution 2231, Iran continues to seek such developments, assuring his nation’s commitment in preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

“To maintain the ability to communicate with Iran and deliver messages to them when it is in the United States best interest to do so is vital,” added Miller, without identifying means and messages should they be conveyed.

“Diplomatic means will be the optimum way to convey our communication to ensure that Iran do not acquire nuclear weapons evidently”.
