Israeli government holds cabinet meeting inside Al-Buraq Wall tunnels

In a step aimed at further demonstrating the Israeli occupation’s sovereignty in occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli government held today its weekly cabinet meeting inside the Al-Buraq Wall tunnels, located in the immediate vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem. The Israeli cabinet session this week aims to allocate budgets and approve a large number of Judaization projects in Jerusalem on the fifty-sixth anniversary of its occupation and annexation, according to Israeli daily Maariv. Ahmed Al-Ruwaidi, Advisor to President Mahmoud Abbas on the Jerusalem Affairs, told WAFA that the Israeli occupation government is seeking to reinforce its sovereignty in East Jerusalem, and to present a false narrative at the expense of the historical reality of the region, whose roots are Islamic, Christian, Palestinian and Arab. He added that the meeting promotes projects aimed at the forcible displacement of the indigenous Palestinian population in the neighborhoods of Sheikh Jarrah and Silwan.
