President Mahmoud Abbas received tonight a telephone call from Israeli Internal Security Minister Omer Bar Lev, during which the latter thanked President Abbas for assisting to extinguish the fires that broke out west of Jerusalem during the past few days.
The Israeli minister described the fires as a great tragedy and said that the Palestinian assistance was important and influential.
President Abbas stressed during the telephone call that the Palestinian participation in putting out the fires was motivated by the humanity of the State of Palestine and its people regardless of anything, stressing that Palestine always initiates such humanitarian aid, at any cost.
