Israeli settlers assault an elderly Palestinian man and soldiers arrest him

After being assaulted by Israeli settlers while working on his land in a town in the north of the West Bank, soldiers arrest the elderly Palestinian farmer, according to a local official.

Ghassan Daghlas, in charge of the settlements file in the north of the occupied territories, told WAFA that settlers from the illegal Yitzhar settlement attacked an elderly farmer while working in this land in the eastern part of the town of Urif, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, who was then arrested by the soldiers after they intervened to protect the settlers.

He said town residents rushed to help the farmer and fend off the settlers who attacked the Palestinian homes but were confronted by the soldiers who fired teargas at them.
