Jordan has welcomed an announcement by Qatar and Bahrain that they have agreed to restore diplomatic relations which were severed in 2017. The announcement came after a meeting of officials from the two countries at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Saudi Arabia. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed the importance of the agreement in enhancing cooperation and solidarity between Arab countries and serving common Arab interests. The official spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Sinan Majali, said that the return of diplomatic relations between the two countries is a major achievement that would enhance Gulf and Arab solidarity and the ability to face common challenges.
