Jordanian king: Ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza has produced an entire generation of orphans

AMMAN: Jordanian King Abdullah II said today that the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza has produced an entire generation of orphans, noting that the number of child casualties in the Strip surpassed the total number of children killed in global conflict zones during the year 2023.

Speaking at the Kigali Genocide Memorial in Rwanda, the kings said that the Atrocities these walls have witnessed constantly remind us of the alarming implications of the dehumanization of others, stressing that instilling fear and spreading misinformation in light of the lack of an appropriate response by the international community lead to heinous forms of extremism.

He said over 30,000 people, most of whom were women and children, have been killed or were missing as a result of the ongoing aggression, stating: “How can indiscriminate aggression and shelling bring peace? How can they guarantee security when they are built on hatred?” the king said concerning the ongoing Israeli aggression.

The kind added that’ ‘More children
have died in Gaza than in all other conflicts around the world this past year,’ adding that ‘of those who have survived, many have lost one or both parents, an entire generation of orphans.”

He stressed that without a just peace based on a two-state solution, the world will continue to pay a heavy price for failing to resolve the conflict, and ‘we will never know true peace and stability in the Middle East’.
