After beating Portugal 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the World Cup 2022, Morocco has become the first Arab and African nation to reach the semi-final stage of the international tournament.

Youssef En-Nesyri delivered the game-winning goal in the 42nd minute. Morocco will face England or France in the semifinal on Wednesday.

Portugal meanwhile struggled to break through the Moroccan defence, and Cristiano Ronaldo who came off the bench six minutes after the break was unable to help his team avoid defeat.
