OIC: Parliament participates in Tehran in 5th Extraordinary Meeting of Permanent Committee on Palestine


The Assembly of People’s Representatives (ARP), Wednesday, attended in Tehran, the fifth extraordinary Meeting of the Permanent Committee on Palestine which reports to the Union of Parliaments Member States of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

The latest developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip, in light of the genocide committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people, were on the agenda of the meeting, reads a Parliament statement.

In a speech delivered on his behalf by the Vice-President of Parliament, Anouar Marzouki, the President of the ARP, Brahim Bouderbala condemned the atrocities committed against Palestinians in Gaza and in the West Bank amid the silence of the international community.

Bouderbala accused the Zionist forces of deliberately targeting the elderly, women, children, journalists, medical staff and rescue teams.

He denounced the forced displacement of nearly 2 million inhabitants in Gaza and the large-scale demolition of homes, schools and places o
f worship.

The President of Parliament denounced the policy of double standards followed by several countries implicated in the war crimes committed against the Palestinians.

On the other hand, he praised the heroism shown by the Palestinian resistance, reaffirming Tunisia’s support to the Palestinian people in their struggle to recover their legitimate rights.

Bouderbala called for an immediate halt of the Zionist aggression, urging the OIC member parliaments to exert pressure through diplomatic, political and legal channels so as to stop the “bloodshed” in the Gaza Strip and expose Zionist crimes.

He also called on member parliaments and regional and international bodies to force the Zionist entity to respect international legality.
