Palestinian prisoner on hunger strike for 18th day against solitary confinement

RAMALLAH– Palestinian prisoner Sabea at-Titi has been on hunger strike for 18 days in a row in protest of his solitary confinement by the Israeli occupation authorities, according to the Detainees Affairs Commission.

At-Titi, a resident of Balata refugee camp in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, has been in Israeli detention since April 10, and has been placed under solidarity confinement for more than one month now.

He is currently suffering from dizziness, joint pain, headaches, and loss of weight as a result of the hunger strike, according to the Detainees Affairs Commission..

He was first sentenced to six months in prison without charge or trial under Israel’s so-called administrative detention. His detention was renewed for an additional six months without charge or trial last month.

He is the brother of the female prisoner Aseel Al-Titi, who was arrested by the occupation forces on the October 2 while she was visiting her brother in Rimon prison.
