Palestinian shot dead by Israeli gunfire near Beit Ummar

A Palestinian young man was shot dead by Israeli gunfire tonight near the town of Beit Ummar, in the southern West Bank province of Hebron, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH). MoH said it was informed by the Palestinian Civil Affairs Commission that Israeli occupation soldiers opened gunfire at the young man, who was later identified as Mohammad Ra’ed Baradiyah, 24, while he was driving his vehicle near the town, critically injuring him. Baradiyah was left bleeding helplessly until he died of his wounds, local sources said, as Palestinian medical personnel were denied access to the scene by the Israeli forces, according to witnesses. Baradiyah is a resident of the town of Surif, to the northwest of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank. Israeli occupation authorities claimed the young man had rammed his car into Israeli soldiers stationed at a checkpoint near the town of Beit Ummar, injuring three of them, including two seriously. The deadly incident brings up the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli occupation forces since the beginning of the year to 92, according to the Ministry of Health.
