Palestinian sustains fracture in settler car-ramming attack in southern West Bank

A Palestinian today sustained a fracture in a settler car-ramming attack in Qalqas area, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to local and security sources.

They said that an Israeli settler intentionally rammed his car into Sufyan Mohammad al-Ju‘beh, 38, and fled the scene.

The casualty was rushed to a hospital for urgent treatment, suffering from a hand fracture. Medics described his injury as light.

The city of Hebron is home to roughly 200,000 Palestinians and about 800 notoriously aggressive Israeli settlers who live in colonial compounds in the heart of the city, heavily guarded by Israeli troops.

Settlers violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

There are over 800,000 Israeli settlers living in colonial settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
