PNC Speaker warns of far-right Israeli government’s plan to ethnically cleanse Palestinian village

Rawhi Fattouh, the Speaker of the Palestinian National Council, warned today of a plan recently announced by the far-right Israeli plan to expel the Palestinian residents of Khan Al-Ahmar, a small Palestinian Bedouin village located east of occupied Jerusalem.

Fattouh said in a press statement that the Israeli plan targeting Khan Al-Ahmar, in addition to ongoing demolitions and bulldozing works by Israel in Palestinian neighborhoods surrounding Jerusalem, aims to undermine the legal status of the city of Jerusalem in flagrant defiance of the resolutions of the international legitimacy.

“The goal of evacuating Khan al-Ahmar and the neighboring Bedouin communities and the expulsion of their Palestinian residents is to establish the Greater Jerusalem or the E1 project that the occupation has been planning for a while, by seizing the Palestinian lands extending from East Jerusalem to the Dead Sea, aiming to empty the area of any Palestinian presence,” the PNC Speaker said.

Fattouh called on the international community and especially the United States to compel the occupying regime to comply with international resolutions, warning of the danger of Israel’s practices on the stability of the entire region.

Jewish supremacist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, said yesterday he would demand the immediate expulsion of Khan Al-Ahmar community during the Israeli government session today.
