President Abbas: Peaceful popular resistance “one of the most important weapons that oppressed people can use”

The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, said that the peaceful popular resistance is one of the most important weapons that the oppressed people can use, and we [Palestinians] must continue with it.

While heading the cabinet session on Monday in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, the President added that “if we are able to do the work alone and we are able to do so, we will succeed, but if we rely on others, we will never succeed, so I say I am with the popular resistance with full force.”

“For years, we have been subjected to limitless pressures, yet we have been patient and enduring, and our steadfastness in front of European conditions is an example of our endurance to global pressures, because European pressure is not only from Europe but also from America,” the President said.

The President indicated that a number of decisions of the Central Council were taken and presented to the members of the Executive and Central Committees for decision, and it was agreed to postpone them until the visit of US President Biden.

The President called on the cabinet to develop industry and enhance the work of industrial cities, because industry is the basis on which “we can stand on our feet, so we must have factories, and develop agricultural projects, to serve citizens and increase job opportunities, adding that he follows all the projects of the Investment Fund, which are expected to be ready by the end of this year.

He said, “I have always asked school students, police and security men to plant the mountains, because these agricultural projects are important and we need them like industrial projects.”

The President added, “I spoke with the Prime Minister regarding the import of cars. The country has become full of cars. It is not right for the country to turn into a parking lot, and this issue must be resolved.”
