Russian Air Defense Repel Drone Attacks Near Moscow

The Russian Ministry of Defence announced Tuesday that its forces repelled a drone attack near Moscow.

The Ministry stated that the Russian Air Defence Forces had shot down 13 drones as they approached the capital Moscow.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that drones targeted two residential buildings in western and south-western Moscow, indicating that the attack did not result in any serious injuries.

Moscow, located more than 1,000km, has rarely been the target of drone attacks since the conflict, even though such attacks have become more common elsewhere in Russia.

Ukraine has already announced that it is preparing to launch a counter-attack, in order to recover territory controlled by Russia in the context of the ongoing war between the two sides since February last year, without any military resolution by the parties.
