Six soldiers, three militants killed in fire exchange N. Pakistan

At least six Pakistan Army soldiers and three militants were killed on Thursday during an exchange of fire with militants in Pakistan’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province, reported the military.

According to a statement by Pakistan’s military’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), an exchange of fire took place between “terrorists” and Pakistani army troops in the Dir Duni area of North Waziristan district of KPK.

ISPR confirmed that six soldiers of the Pakistan army were killed during the “intense exchange of fire”, adding that three militants were killed while two others were injured.

In a statement issued by PM House, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to those killed in the incident and their bereaved families.
