State of Palestine Street opened in Argentina

BUENOS AIRES– The municipality of the city of Santa Clara del Mar in Argentina, in cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Argentina, officially renamed today one of its main streets into the “State of Palestine Street” marking the 34th anniversary of the Palestinian Declaration of Independence.

Palestinian and Argentine flags were raised during the street renaming ceremony, and signs bearing the name “State of Palestine” were installed on all the junctions and roads that lead to the street.

Jorge Paredes, the mayor of the city, expressed his pride that this event took place during his tenure, saying he was happy to launch the name one of the most important streets of the city after the State of Palestine.

He expressed solidarity on behalf of the people the city and with the struggle of the Palestinian people living under Israeli occupation and apartheid rule.
