Three sustain injuries, dozens suffocate as Israeli army quell rally in Qalqiliya-district town

QALQILIYA– Three Palestinians Friday afternoon sustained injuries and dozens others suffocated as the Israeli army quelled an anti-colonial-settlement rally in Kafr Qaddum town, east of Qalqiliya, according to a media activist.

Murad Ishteiwi said that the heavily-armed soldiers opened fire towards the participants in the rally, wounding three by rubber-coated steel bullets and causing scores others to suffocate from tear gas.

The suffocation cases were treated at the scene, while the other casualties were taken to a nearby medical center for treatment.
