Two Palestinian families forced to demolish their homes in occupied East Jerusalem

Israeli forces today forced two Palestinian families in Sur Baher town, southeast of occupied Jerusalem city, to demolish their homes with their own hands.

WAFA correspondent said the Dabash and Karki families were forced to demolish their homes under pressure from the Israeli West Jerusalem municipality, which said the house was built without a permit and therefore should be demolished.

The two families proceeded to tear down the two-storey house to avoid paying exorbitant costs that could exceed $60,000 if the Jerusalem municipality carries out the demolition on its own.
