Weather: Dry, hot conditions prevail

Weather today in Palestine is mainly clear, dry and relatively hot in daytime and mild to slightly cold during night hours, particularly in the mountains. No change in temperature is expected, remaining 3°C above the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are northwesterly, light to moderate and occasionally active. Sea waves are low.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 30°C and a low of 17°C and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 30°C and a low of 16°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 40°C and a low of 24°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 31°C and a low of 21°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Temperature is set to drop on Monday and become seasonal, paving the way to mainly clear and relatively hot conditions. Mild conditions are expected in the morning and night hours, particularly in the mountains.

No change in temperature or weather conditions is expected for Tuesday and Wednesday, remaining around their seasonal average.

People are warned today against long exposure to direct sunlight especially during the peak hours of the day between 11 am and 4 pm, as well as against setting fire to areas with dry grass.
