Weather: Low pressure cold-front affects the country

Weather today in Palestine is cold to relatively cold, rainy and cloudy with a drop in temperature, as a low pressure affects the country, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD). Sporadic rain accompanied by occasional thunderstorms is highly expected on many areas.

Winds are southwesterly to southeasterly, light to moderate, and sea waves are low.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and in Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 13°C and a low of 8°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 12°C and a low of 7°C are expected. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 21°C and a low of 14°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 19°C and a low of 13°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

The low-pressure front is expected to continue on Sunday leading temperature to drop and become two to three degrees Celsius below the seasonal average, said the PMD. Rain and thunderstorms are highly expected.

No significant change in temperature or weather conditions is expected for Monday. Rain, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms, is also expected in most areas.

Temperature drops further on Tuesday approached three degrees Celsius below the seasonal average. Rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day and night.
