Weather: Low-pressure front continues to affect Palestine bringing rain, thunderstorms and snow

RAMALLAH– Palestine remains today under the effect of the low-pressure front, at least during the day which is expected to subside in the evening, bringing rain, thunderstorms, hail, extremely cold conditions, snow flurries on areas higher than 900 meters above sea level, and temperature remaining 7°C below the annual average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Winds are westerly to northwesterly, active to strong at times reaching 70 km/h, and sea waves are high.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 6°C and a low of 2°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 5°C and a low of 1°C are expected. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 15°C and a low of 9°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 12°C and a low of 9°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Partially cloudy to clear and very cold conditions are expected tomorrow, Thursday, with a chance of light scattered rain in some areas.

A rise in temperature is expected on Friday and Saturday but the cold conditions continue, said the PMD, which warned people against the formation of floods in low areas and valleys, high winds, slippery roads, and low horizontal visibility.
