Settlers destroy, steal crops belonging to Palestinians in Masafer Yatta area

A group of settlers destroyed and stole today evening Palestinian-owned seasonal crops planted in a 20-dunum of agricultural land in the Masafer Yatta area to the south of Hebron, according to a local activist.

Coordinator of the Protection and Steadfastness Committees in Masafer Yatta, Fouad al-Amour said farmers and herders were surprised to see that their crops were stolen and destroyed by Israeli settlers who took advantage of residents’ preoccupation with Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Settlers further grazed their sheep through the crops, which the owners rely on to feed their livestock amid the increasing prices of fodder.

Minister of Waqf condemns raising of Israeli flag, singing of Israeli anthem at-al-Aqsa mosque

Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Sheikh Hatem al-Bakri, slammed today’s raising of the flag of Israel and the singing of the Israeli anthem at al-Aqsa mosque as a flagrant assault and desecration of holy sites.

He considered what happened today at al-Aqsa mosque as a blatant defiance of Muslims’ feelings in Palestine and the Islamic and Arab world and a violation of al-Aqsa mosque; the most sensitive Muslim-only holy site in Palestine.

He said that what occurred today at al-Aqsa mosque can only be explained by the Israeli occupation’s desire to ignite a religious war that they can start but won’t be able to stop.

He called on the international community and humanitarian organizations concerned with heritage and cultural affairs to work to put an end to these attacks that cannot be justified in any way.

He called on Palestinians and all the Muslim and Arab people to increase their presence in al-Aqsa Mosque to undermine Israel’s plans to impose a temporal and spatial division of the holy compound.

Israeli Settlers destroy agricultural rooms west of Salfit

Israeli settlers today evening sabotaged three agricultural rooms belonging to Palestinians in the town of Kufr Ad-Dik to the west of Salfit, according to one of the owners.

Ahmad al-Ahmad, one of the owners, said settlers snuck into lands in the northwestern part of the town of Kufr Ad-Dik, broke down the doors, windows, and contents of the rooms, and destroyed one room completely.

Israeli settler violence against Palestinians and their property is commonplace in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
