‫مبادرة جديدة لريادة الأعمال لتعزيز خلق فرص العمل في ليبيا

TRIPOLI, ليبيا, 2023 مايو 30. تسعى مبادرة “ دِرَايَــة لريادة الأعمال” الجديدة إلى بناء منظومة ديناميكية من رواد الأعمال الشباب المبتكرين والشركات الناشئة في ليبيا.

يواجه رواد الأعمال الشباب في ليبيا العديد من التحديات، بما في ذلك الوصول إلى الأسواق والموارد المالية، ومتابعة الأنظمة والإجراءات الإدارية. فتم تصميم مبادرة دراية لتزويد رواد الأعمال بالمعرفة الأساسية لتحويل الأفكار المبتكرة إلى شركات ناشئة ناجحة، والجدير بالذكر أنه تم بناء هذه المبادرة بشكل مشترك بين وزارة الحكم المحلي (MoLG) وبرنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي (UNDP)، وبالتعاون مع الاتحاد الأوروبي (EU) والبنك الأفريقي للتنمية (AfDB).

تستهدف مبادرة دراية الشباب في ليبيا وبما في ذلك الفئات المستضعفة، وهي مفتوحة لأصحاب المشاريع المبتكرين ورواد الأعمال المستقبليين من الشباب الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 18 و35 عامًا. فمن خلال ندوات إلكترونية تفاعلية، سيتم منح المشاركين في المبادرة فرصة للتفاعل مع رواد الأعمال ذوي الخبرة في المجال كنماذج يحتذى بها من ليبيا ومصر وتونس من أجل التعرف على قصص نجاحهم وثروة معارفهم وخبراتهم. ستشمل المبادرة أيضًا “ستارت أب ويكند” في طرابلس وبنغازي وسبها ودرنة، متوجة بمسابقة أفضل خطة ريادية، حيث ستتلقى الشركات الناشئة الفائزة دعمًا ماليًا من قبل الإتحاد الأوروبي والبنك الأفريقي للتنمية، لمواصلة التطوير والنمو والارتقاء بأفكارها التجارية إلى المستوى التالي. وعلاوة على ذلك، سيتم وصل رواد الأعمال بحاضنات الأعمال البلدية التي يتم إنشاؤها مع وزارة الحكم المحلي بدعم فني من برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي، كخطوة حاسمة نحو الاستدامة.

وأضاف سفير الاتحاد الأوروبي السيد خوسيه ساباديل: “إن الازدهار الاقتصادي لليبيا سيكون مدفوعًا برواد الأعمال الشباب ذوي الأفكار المبتكرة والتطلعية، فهم مفتاح التنوع في الاقتصاد الليبي، والقوة في القطاع الخاص، والقدرة على خلق وظائف جديدة. وبالتعاون مع شركائنا الليبيين والدوليين، يسعى الاتحاد الأوروبي إلى تقديم دعم قوي وملموس لرواد الأعمال الليبيين الشباب، لتحقيق أفكارهم التجارية “.

 كما علق السيد محمد العزيزي، المدير الإقليمي لشمال أفريقيا في البنك الأفريقي للتنمية، قائلاً: “إن تنمية القطاع الخاص هي أساس تعزيز التنويع الاقتصادي وخلق فرص عمل في ليبيا؛ فدعم مسار الشباب الليبيين من رجال ونساء لتطوير وتنمية شركاتهم الناشئة ينطوي على إمكانات اجتماعية واقتصادية هائلة، وسيساهم في خلق فرص عمل جديدة. ومن الضروري أيضًا ضمان بيئة ملائمة للأعمال التجارية والدعم المؤسسي. ويدعم ذلك مشروع “البيئة التمكينية نحو دعم ريادة الأعمال الشبابية وحوكمة الهجرة الإيجابية” الممول من مجموعة البنك الأفريقي للتنمية من خلال الصندوق الائتماني متعدد المانحين للريادة الشبابية والابتكار، والذي ينفذه برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي”.

يعد برنامج دراية جزءًا من جهود بناء السلام المحلية والتعافي التي يبذلها برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي بالشراكة مع وزارة الحكم المحلي، ويهدف إلى خلق فرص اجتماعية واقتصادية للشباب والفئات المستضعفة لتعزيز النمو المستدام في ليبيا، بما في ذلك إنشاء أول حاضنة أعمال بقيادة البلدية وبرنامج تسريع الأعمال TEC + .

New entrepreneurship initiative to boost job creation in Libya

The Deraya initiative is designed to equip entrepreneurs with the essential know-how to turn innovative ideas into successful startups

TRIPOLI, LIBYA – EQS Newswire – 30 May 2023 – The new “Deraya – دِرَايَــة Entrepreneurship Initiative” for young entrepreneurs seeks to build a dynamic ecosystem of innovative entrepreneurs and startups in Libya.

Young entrepreneurs in Libya face many challenges, including accessing markets and financial resources, and navigating regulations and administrative procedures. The Deraya initiative is designed to equip entrepreneurs with the essential know-how to turn innovative ideas into successful startups. The initiative was jointly developed by the Ministry of Local Government (MoLG), and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with  the European Union (EU) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).

Targeting youth and vulnerable groups, Deraya is open to innovative and aspiring entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 35. Through interactive webinars, the initiative’s participants will be given an opportunity to engage with experienced entrepreneurs, subject matter experts, and role models from Libya, Egypt, and Tunisia and learn from their success stories, wealth of knowledge, and expertise. The initiative will also entail startup weekends in Tripoli, Benghazi, Sebha, and Derna, culminating with a pitch competition where the winning startups will receive financial support, financed by EU and AfDB, to further develop, grow, and take their business ideas to the next level. As a critical step towards sustainability, entrepreneurs will be linked to the municipal business incubators being set up with MoLG with UNDP’s technical support.

Commenting on the launch of the programme, Dr. Bader Al-Deen Al-Tomi, Minister of Local Government, said: “The Deraya initiative plays a pivotal role in the Ministry of Local Government’s strategy to develop entrepreneurship and micro-enterprises at the local level, empower municipalities economically, and provide job opportunities in line with Law 59 and Resolution 1500. We are delighted to work towards these goals in cooperation with our international partners, EU, AfDB and UNDP.”

EU Ambassador Mr. José Sabadell added: “Libya’s economic prosperity will be driven by young entrepreneurs with innovative, forward-looking ideas. They will be the key to a more diversified Libyan economy, a strong private sector and new jobs. Together with our Libyan and international partners, the European Union therefore seeks to offer strong and concrete support to young Libyan entrepreneurs, to realise their business ideas.” 

Mr Mohamed El Azizi, Regional Director for North Africa at the African Development Bank, further commented: “Private sector development is key to boosting economic diversification and job creation in Libya. Supporting the trajectory of young Libyan men and women to develop and grow their start-ups has enormous socio-economic potential and will contribute to job creation. It is also important to ensure an adequate business enabling environment and institutional support. The EEYES project, financed by the AfDB through the Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Multidonor Trust Fund, and implemented by UNDP, supports these components.”   

UNDP Resident Representative, Mr. Marc-André Franche, said: “Libya has a new generation of young people, women and men, , with promising capacity and big ambitions. The country has the potential to be one of the biggest entrepreneurial ecosystems in North Africa, and through the Deraya programme, UNDP seek to help inspire and provide young entrepreneurs with the necessary resources and assets to realise growth and innovation.”

The Deraya programme is part of UNDP’s Local Peacebuilding and Resilience efforts in partnership with MoLG, aimed at creating socio-economic opportunities for youth and vulnerable groups to promote sustainable growth in Libya, including the establishment of the first Municipality-led business incubator (https://apo-opa.info/3C2SOf1) and the TEC+ Accelerator programme (https://apo-opa.info/3oANCMa).

Hitachi Energy signs agreements with ENOWA and Saudi Electricity Company to design and develop the first phase of visionary NEOM region transmission system

Collaboration to accelerate the development of NEOM in Saudi Arabia with up to 9 gigawatts of power transmission capacity

Zurich, Switzerland, May 30, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Hitachi Energy, a global technology leader advancing a sustainable energy future for all, has signed agreements under the supervision and management of the Ministry of Energy with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and with ENOWA. The agreements include the supply of three high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems to end customer ENOWA, the utility company for NEOM in Northwest Saudi Arabia. Built with sustainability in mind, NEOM is among Saudi Arabia’s Giga-Projects1 reshaping the future of development. The three HVDC links will have a total power capacity of up to 9 gigawatts (GW).

The agreements include an order from ENOWA’s engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) partner, the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) awarded to Hitachi Energy and its consortium partner, Saudi Services for Electro Mechanical Works (SSEM), to provide one of the world’s first 3 GW, 525 kilovolt (kV) HVDC Light® transmission system connecting Oxagon, NEOM’s regional development, with the larger Yanbu area more than 650 kilometers away in Western Saudi Arabia.

Hitachi Energy’s scope of supply includes design, engineering, procurement of HVDC technology and commissioning of the HVDC Light converter stations. Whilst SSEM – a leading Saudi EPC specialized in power, water and industrial projects – will design and supply the AC equipment portion and perform the construction and the installation. The converter stations convert the power from AC to DC then back to AC for integration into the receiving grid. The converters will be sourced by and supplied to Saudi Electricity Company, who were contracted in 2022 by ENOWA to act as their EPCM to build this first HVDC system for NEOM.

Further to this, Hitachi Energy and ENOWA have signed an early works and capacity reservation agreement for two additional HVDC projects, each rated up to 3 GW. Under this agreement, both companies commit to having the resources and capacity necessary to implement these two HVDC systems. As part of a new scalable and modular regional network design that is targeted to seamlessly integrate future renewables and energy storage technologies in the NEOM Energy System, making it unique in terms of size and complexity. The co-operation will also explore opportunities to develop local competencies in the Kingdom, including ways to sustainably assemble the necessary HVDC Light components locally.

Leading child mental health organisations call for global action against infant, child and adolescent trauma

SINGAPORE – Media OutReach – 30 May 2023 – Research has shown that most mental disorders develop in childhood and adolescence before the age of 25, with one-quarter of years lived by young people with disability due to mental and substance use disorders.

To address this pressing concern and mobilise global efforts, the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions (IACAPAP), International Society for Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology (ISAPP), World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH), and World Psychiatric Association Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (WPA-CAP) have jointly declared April 23 as the World Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Day (WICAMHD).

This year witnessed the second annual WICAMHD event under the theme of Stand Against Infant, Child and Adolescent Trauma.

Children and adolescents form one third of the world’s population. Childhood and adolescence are foundational years characterised by growth, learning, and carefree exploration. However, many around the world are inflicted by trauma and crisis – adverse experiences which research has shown to have long-lasting effects on their mental and physical well-being.

Studies also show that about 15 percent to 43 percent of girls and 14 percent to 43 percent of boys experience at least one traumatic experience.

Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are also contributing factors in the development of mental disorders in adult years. The indirect and compounding effects of this is a ballooning economic burden on society, especially in the areas of healthcare and productivity loss.

Children in war zones and natural disasters are particularly vulnerable. During the second annual WICAMHD event under, three renowned speakers shared their expertise on childhood trauma.

Dr Dennis Ougrin, Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Visiting Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Global Mental Health, Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London discussed the impacts of the war in Ukraine.

Dr Fusun Cetin Cuhadaroglu, Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey presented on the traumatising effects of the recent earthquake in Turkey.

Finally, Dr Michelle Miller, Director of Mental Health Programs, National Children’s Alliance, United States highlighted evidence-based response for children subjected to trauma. This was followed by a panel discussion.

In addition to the main event, several national organisations held events and advocacy efforts commemorating WICAMHD.

These include the Indian Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (IACAM), the Lithuanian Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (LVPPD), the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), the Austrian Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy (ASCAP) and the Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, College of Psychiatrists, Academy of Medicine, Singapore (SCAP).

سنغافورة – 30 مايو 2023 – أظهرت الأبحاث أن معظم الاضطرابات العقلية تتطور في مرحلتي الطفولة والمراهقة قبل سن 25، حيث يعيش الشباب ربع أعمارهم بإعاقة بسبب الاضطرابات العقلية وتعاطي المخدرات.

لمعالجة هذه المسألة الملحة، وحشد الجهود العالمية، أعلنت كل من الجمعية الدولية للطب النفسي للأطفال والمراهقين والمهن المرتبطة بها (IACAPAP)، والجمعية الدولية للطب النفسي وعلم النفس للمراهقين (ISAPP)، والجمعية العالمية للصحة العقلية للرضع (WAIMH)، والجمعية العالمية للطب النفسي للأطفال والمراهقين وقسم الطب النفسي (WPA-CAP) أن أبريل 2023 هو اليوم العالمي للصحة العقلية للرضع والأطفال والمراهقين (WICAMHD).

شهد هذا العام الفعالية السنوية الثانية لليوم العالمي للصحة العقلية للرضع والأطفال والمراهقين (WICAMHD)، تحت شعار الوقوف ضد صدمات الرضع والأطفال والمراهقين.

يشكل الأطفال والمراهقين ثلث سكان العالم. وتُعد الطفولة والمراهقة سنوات أساسية تتميز بالنمو والتعلم والاستكشاف الخالي من الهموم. ومع ذلك، يصاب كثير من الأشخاص حول العالم بالصدمات والأزمات، وهي تجارب سلبية أظهرت الأبحاث أن لها تأثيرات طويلة الأمد على صحتهم العقلية والبدنية.

أوضحت الدراسات أيضًا أن حوالي 15 % إلى 43 % من البنات و14% إلى 43 % من الأولاد يتعرضون لتجربة مؤلمة مرة على الأقل.

NATO announces deployment of additional forces in Kosovo

NATO announced Tuesday that it would deploy additional forces in Kosovo following the injury of 30 peacekeepers force, in confrontations in the north of the country.

According to Euro News, NATO stated that the deployment of additional NATO forces in Kosovo “is a prudent” measure to ensure that Kosovo forces have the capabilities to maintain security.

Israeli forces raid Tulkarm-area towns

Israeli forces Tuesday broke into the towns of Qaffin and Baqa al-Sharqiyah, to the north of the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm, sources confirmed.

WAFA correspondent said that a large unit of Israeli forces raided the aforementioned towns, broke into a local gas station and confiscated surveillance camera footages.

She added that the Israeli soldiers did not detain anyone.

Israel issues orders to halt construction in eight houses near Salfit

Israeli occupation forces today handed notices to stop work and construction against eight Palestinian-owned houses in the town of Deir Balut, to the west of the occupied West Bank city of Salfit, according to local sources.

They told WAFA that Israeli forces issued orders to stop work and construction against eight inhabited houses owned by local Palestinians.

Israeli forces close military checkpoint, obstruct movement near Jenin

Israeli occupation forces today shut down the military checkpoint of Dutan in the town of Ya’bad, obstructing movement of Palestinians, according to local sources.

They said that Israeli forces closed the Dutan checkpoint, which is built on Ya’bad lands, stopped citizens vehicles and searched their ID cards, causing traffic jam.

The soldiers intensified their presence in the vicinity of the checkpoint and on the main street adjacent to the town of Ya’bad.

Dozens of Palestinian students suffocate after Israeli forces targeted their school near Nablus

Dozens of Palestinian students and teachers suffered from suffocation due to inhaling tear gas after Israeli forces attacked and targeted Omar Bin Al-Khatab School in the town of Huwwara, to the south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources.

Raja Awad, the head of the school, told WAFA that a large unit of Israeli soldiers broke into the school and proceeded to fire tear gas canisters and sound bombs towards teachers and students while they were leaving school, causing several suffocation cases.

Israeli forces have been trying for nearly a month to obstruct the educational process in the Palestinian schools by terrorizing students and raiding schools, using throwing stones at Israeli forces as a pretext., Raja added.

He noted that teacher, along with the help of the towns’ community member, spread on the road leading to the school in order to guarantee that students arrive in their school safely.

Students of the school, which composed of 500 students from the first to the seventh grade, suffer from fear of reaching their school, due to Israeli forces’ measures against them.

Jordan’s foreign minister meets Higher Institute of National Defence Studies in France delegation

The Foreign Minister of Jordan, Ayman Safadi, held a meeting in Amman Tuesday with a delegation from the Higher Studies Institute of National Defence in France.

Safadi discussed during the meeting the “importance” of cooperation in economic, investment, cultural and defence between France and Jordan, noting the two countries efforts to combat terrorism.

He briefed the delegates about Jordan’s efforts to resolve regional crises and uphold security, stability and peace.

He said there is a “necessity” to end the Israeli occupation and realise the two-state solution, adding that the two-state solution “is the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.”

On Syria, Safadi highlighted the Arab leadership role in resolving the Syrian crisis and the results of the Jeddah and Amman meetings.

Safadi leveraged the meeting to view political, economic and administrative reforms implemented in the Kingdom.

The delegation included French parliamentarians, military personnel, politicians, journalists, experts, and scholars from the UAE, the US, Italy, Romania, Belgium, Germany and Sweden.
