Foreign ministry: Its easy for Israel to impose collective punishments on defenseless Palestinians due to absence of international accountability

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement today that Israel, the occupying power, finds it easy to impose collective punishments on the defenseless Palestinian civilians due to the absence of international accountability, stressing that Israel should comply with international law and its obligations as an occupying power.

The ministry stressed that the occupying power practices the worst forms of discrimination and colonial racism against Palestinian citizens on a daily basis, and before the eyes of the entire world.

It said that the Israeli forces and settlers’ attacks against Palestinians occur amid the Israeli authorities’ failure to condemn such attacks or investigate them.

“If it was the other way round, the Israeli army and political leaders’ reaction would have been different, and we would have heard a torrent of condemnations and threats against Palestinians,” the ministry maintained.
