The security units affiliated to the Maysan Operations Command carried out a security operation in Al-Khair district, south of Al-Amarah city, with the aim of confiscating unlicensed weapons and keeping weapons in the hands of the state.
Maysan Operations Command said in a statement, a copy of which the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) received: “A joint security force carried out the operation, which resulted in the seizure of various heavy weapons, including 2 82 mm mortars, which were confiscated,” noting that “they are continuing their search operations for wanted persons in the mentioned area.”
