Israeli forces demolish three residential rooms in northern Jordan Valley

Israeli occupation forces demolished today three residential rooms in an area to the north of al-Hamra military checkpoint in the northern Jordan Valley, said local sources.

Sources told WAFA Israeli forces stormed the area and proceeded to demolish three cement-made residential rooms belonging to a local resident in the area.

“For decades, the Israeli authorities have been implementing a policy aimed at driving out scores of communities, that are home to thousands of Palestinians. They have made living conditions miserable and intolerable with a view to establishing facts on the ground and taking over these areas,” said the Israeli information center for human rights in occupied territories, B’Tselem.

The Jordan Valley, which is a fertile strip of land running west along the Jordan River, is home to about 65,000 Palestinians and makes up approximately 30% of the area of the occupied West Bank.

Israel has plans to annex the Jordan Valley, which is strongly opposed by the Palestinian and the entire international community.
