Israeli settlers today attacked women shepherds while sheepherding in the open fields of Kisan village, east of the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, according to activist Ahmad Ghazal.
He told WAFA that settlers from the illegal settlement of Maali Amos, built on appropriated Kisan land, attacked the women shepherds, who were sisters, threw stones at them, and released their dogs to attack their sheep.
The settlers also held the two women and their sheep for more than an hour, he said, explaining that settlers are regularly attacking shepherds in the Kisan area who make a living out of raising livestock in order to force them out of the open pastures, which they want to steal in order to expand their settlement.
Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers pursued herders in the northern Jordan Valley pastures and forced them to leave the area, according to activist Aref Daraghme.
He said the soldiers chased the herders and their sheep in lands east of Khirbet Makhoul.
