Parliamentary delegation meets EU official in Brussels

A Jordanian parliamentary delegation, headed by Second Deputy Speaker of the Lower House, MP Nassar Heisa, met in Brussels with the head of the European Union Department of External Relations with Near Eastern, Isabel Santos Heisa said Jordan’s stance towards the Palestinian cause is firm and solid that was expressed by His Majesty King Abdullah in all regional and international forums. He said that the establishment of an independent, fully sovereign Palestinian state on the pre-June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, represents a higher interest for the Jordanian state. Heisa added that establishing a comprehensive, just and lasting peace is a strategic option, calling for support for serious efforts that seek to achieve the two-state solution. For his part, the head of the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, Khaldoun Heina, said that the Palestinian cause is the core of the conflict in the region and Jerusalem is one of the main pillars of the Palestinian cause and the Arab-Israeli conflict, stressing the importance of seeking a just and peaceful settlement to this decades-old conflict.
