PM Shatyyeh discusses dangerous situation across Palestinian territories with US envoy

Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh discussed during a meeting in his office in Ramallah with the United States envoy and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Israeli and Palestinian Affairs, Hady Amr, the dangerous situation across the Palestinian territories, and the need to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Shtayyeh called on the United States to intervene to stop the Israeli aggression immediately and end the bloodshed of the Palestinian people in Gaza, of whom more than 200 people were killed, including more than 50 children.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to stop the Israeli occupation policies of displacement and ethnic in Jerusalem; Sheikh Jarrah in particular, as well as the attacks on al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

He affirmed the leadership’s openness to any political process based on international law, leading to an independent and sovereign state within the 1967 borders and with Jerusalem as its capital, and an end to the occupation.

For his part, the US envoy stressed his country’s efforts to stop the escalation in the Gaza Strip, and the need to work for a two-state solution.
