President renews COVID-19 state of emergency in Palestine for 30 more days

RAMALLAH, President Mahmoud Abbas issued a decree renewing the COVID-19 state of emergency in Palestine for 30 more days starting today.

The state of emergency was first declared in March of last year when the first cases of the COVID-19 pandemic were discovered in Palestine. It has been renewed every month since then.

The state of emergency gives the government the power to act in any way it sees necessary to confront the impact of the global pandemic.
