A UK minister Wednesday urged Israel to stop forced expulsions of Palestinians and demolitions of their property in the occupied city of Jerusalem.
“Following the forcible eviction of the Salhia family, and the demolition of their home in Sheikh Jarrah, East Jerusalem, I urge the Government of Israel to stop these practices, which cause unnecessary suffering and can fuel tensions on the ground,” Minister for Middle East and North Africa at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, James Cleverly, tweeted.
Cleverly made this tweet following the forced expulsion of the Salhiya family and demolition of its property in Sheikh Jarrah, which has become a scene of massive protests against Israel’s settler-colonialism in the occupied territories.
