Seventeen Palestinians were today injured by Israeli gunfire during confrontations that erupted after dozens of extremist Israeli settlers raided the area of Joseph’s Tomb, to the east of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to sources.
Ahmad Jibreel, director of the ambulance service with the Red Crescent in Nablus, said that a youth was shot with a live bullet in the thigh and taken to the hospital, while 16 others were injured with rubber bullets, four of whom were taken to the hospital, during confrontations that broke out after Israeli settlers broke into the aforementioned area.
He added that 40 Palestinians suffered from suffocation due to inhaling tear gas bombs fired at them by the soldiers, noting that four children and an infant were taken to the hospital, while two families had to leave their houses after their homes were targeted with tear gas.
Jibreel said that five others suffered from burns, and two more fell during the confrontations. They were all treated at the scene.
Hundreds of Israeli settlers raided the area of Joseph’s Tomb under heavy protection by the Israeli police.
