Occupation Forces Kill Two Palestinians in West Bank

Two Palestinians were killed by Israeli occupation forces after storming the Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank on Saturday.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that the two young men succumbed to their serious bullet wounds after the occupation forces stormed Nur Shams camp with military reinforcements.

The Israeli occupation forces and settlers killed 110 martyrs since the beginning of 2023, including 20 children and two women.

Turkish President: Military Operations Against the PKK are Continuing

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the military operations carried out by his country against the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) are continuing.

In a televised interview, Erdogan said the fight against the PKK in Qandil Mountain in northern Iraq is imminent.

“Therefore, our cross-border operations are not over. We are just waiting for the right time,” Erdogan added.

Turkiye is carrying out military operations against the PKK militants, which it classifies as “terrorist” due to its inside the country and across the borders, targeting Turkish forces and citizens.

168 Sudanese Holding Qatari Residency Evacuated from Sudan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the evacuation of 168 Sudanese holding Qatari residency from the Republic of the Sudan by a Qatari plane from Port Sudan Airport.

The State of Qatar had earlier evacuated Qatari citizens from Sudan.

The ministry reiterated the keenness of the State of Qatar on security and stability in the Republic of the Sudan.

South Korea, US to Conduct Largest-Ever Live-Fire Military Drills

South Korea and the United States will conduct their largest-ever live-fire military exercises for three weeks.

The two allies will conduct the “joint firepower exercises” from May 25 to June 15 in the Pocheon region, the South Korean Defense Ministry said on Saturday.

During the drill, the two sides will display the latest weapons and capabilities to respond against any provocation that might threaten the stability of the Korean Peninsula.

The exercises will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of South Korea’s armed forces and the 70th anniversary of the South Korea-US alliance.

Qatar Ambassador to UK: HH the Amir’s Visit Reflects Qatar-UK Solid Relations

HE Qatar’s Ambassador to the UK Fahd bin Mohammed Al Attiyah stressed that the invitation of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III, reflects the strength of relations between the State of Qatar and the United Kingdom, and also the strategic depth of bilateral relations, which include vital areas such as security, defense, energy security, conflict resolution efforts and international mediation.

His Excellency added, in remarks to QNA, that HH the Amir’s attendance of the coronation ceremony indicates Qatar’s keenness to further strengthen its outstanding relations with the United Kingdom, and the beginning of a new era for bilateral relations under the reign of King Charles III.

HE the Ambassador continued that HH the Amir’s presence at the inauguration ceremony, is also an occasion to develop relations between the two countries in various fields, and to discuss new areas of cooperation. The visit also is an opportunity to discuss the strategic relations between the two countries, he added, pointing out that His Highness discussed with HE UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, during this visit, the strategic relations between the two countries, and ways to develop them in various fields.

During the talks, a number of emerging regional and international issues were discussed. The two sides also discussed the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, and ways to enhance them, in addition to exchanging views on a number of issues of common concern.

HH the Amir affirmed the strong partnership between the two countries, expressing his thanks to the UK government for its great cooperation during Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. HH the Amir also expressed his pride with the level of partnership between the two countries and bilateral relations, and the joint success at all levels. HH the Amir highlighted the strategic dialogue that will take place between the two countries this year, during which issues of security, energy and economic partnership will be discussed. His Highness pointed out that the trade exchange between the two countries last year amounted to about GBP 13.5 billion, which is witnessing a steady increase annually, in view of Qatar’s investments in the UK, where His Highness expressed his aspiration to continue working in this regard.

For his part, HE the UK Prime Minister expressed pride in the great partnership between the two countries in various fields, especially with regard to regional security and cooperation in the field of defense. Al-Sudani discusses with the Iranian Energy Minister the file of electricity and water shares on the paths of joint rivers

The Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, received today, Saturday, the Iranian Minister of Energy, Ali Akbar Mehrabian, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting witnessed, according to a statement by Al-Sudani’s office, discussions in areas of joint cooperation, and ways to enhance exchange and coordination regarding the challenges facing the energy sector, regionally and internationally.

Aspects of the electricity file and electric power supply to the Iraqi national grid from the Islamic Republic of Iran were also discussed, in addition to discussing the issue of scarcity in water resources and the effects of dry seasons, and water shares on the paths of joint rivers.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of continuing dialogue and coordination and investing in the atmosphere of political calm in the region, in achieving the benefit and aspirations of all brotherly and friendly peoples.

Sheikh Hummam Hammoudi visits the Syndicate of Journalists and stresses the need to support journalistic work and freedom of the press

The Head of the Islamic Supreme Council, Sheikh Hummam Hammoudi, visited the headquarters of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, and he was received by the Head of the Journalists Syndicate Moayad Al-Lami, his two deputies, and members of the Syndicate Council.

Sheikh Hamoudi listened to a detailed explanation of the Syndicate work and activities, and the work it had achieved for the benefit of the country at the local and global levels.

He stressed the need to support journalists and freedom of the press, provide all facilities that are in their interest, and complete the transactions of the martyrs of the press, praising the efforts made by the Syndicate during the previous period.

The Head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami, welcomed the presence of Sheikh Hummam Hammoudi and his accompanying delegation and his continuous support for the work of journalists in Iraq.

After that, the Head of the Supreme Council toured the corridors of the Syndicate to see its departments and the mechanism for providing services to journalists.

Head of the Supreme Judicial Council meets with judges and heads of security services in Wasit

The Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faeq Zaidan, held a meeting with judges and heads of security agencies in Wasit.

Zaidan told the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: “This visit comes to enhance joint action and high coordination in order to support the security and social stability of Wasit Governorate.”

He added: “During the meeting, we discussed ways to develop joint work and strengthen the performance of judicial institutions in everything that contributes to serving the citizen.”

31 Kuwaitis submit candidacy documents for “23” parliament election

At least 31 Kuwaitis submitted on Saturday their candidacy documents to the election affairs department affiliated to the Ministry of Interior to run for the 2023 National Assembly election set on June 6. The number of candidates has so far risen to 61, including a female, in the second day of receiving applications, which will last until May 14. Today’s candidacy documents included five in the first constituency, nine in the second, one in the third, six in the fourth and ten in the fifth.

Kuwait Customs seizes 33 diesel containers

Kuwait’s General Administration of Customs announced on Saturday the seizure of 33 containers of petroleum derivative (diesel), which is prohibited from being exported.

The customs handed over the containers to the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) after they were seized by the inspectors of the northern ports and Failaka Island. The containers were headed to one of the Gulf countries, said general administration of customs in a statement.

The containers were unloaded into tanks belonging to the KNPC, in coordination and cooperation with the Kuwait Fire Force, it added in a statement.

For his part, the Director General of the General Administration of Customs Sulaiman Al-Fahad expressed his appreciation to the KNPC and administration of customs efforts and rapid response.
