Electricity minister discusses measures to check energy prices


Sana’a electricity minister, Mohamed Bukhaiti, on Wednesday held a meeting to discuss measures to check private power stations incompliant with standard pricing.

Infringing power stations should be referred to industrial Prosecution, Dr. Bukhaiti said at the meeting, hailing the resumption of campaign to control pricing.

The unlicensed stations should be also referred to the council tasked with governing electricity businesses, the minister added.

Electricity ministry discusses national vision achievements


The Sana’a-based electricity minister on Wednesday met with committees in charge of national vision projects, procedures smoothening manual, audience service and complaints, and code of conduct.

Minister Mohamed Bukhaiti urged committees to accelerate progress in achieving all of their duties and to follow comments issued by assessment team.

Sana’a hospital begins heart healthcare


The 22 May Hospital in Hamdan, Sana’a governorate, saw on Wednesday the kickoff of activity in the two 5-bed units of heart healthcare.

The locally-funded units are a push for healthcare sector, director of Hamdan health office, Dr. Khaled al-Muntasir, said, noting that the provincial leadership “plans to change the units into a complete charitable center for heart therapy.”

Committee tasked by Sayyed Abdul-Malik meets with victims’ families of Rada’a incident


The committee tasked by the Revolution leader, Sayyed. Abdul Malik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, to investigate the incident in the city of Radaa in Al-Bayda Governorate, met with the families of the victims and those affected.

The committee, in the presence of notables and notables of Al-Bayda governorate and Rada’a district, confirmed that it had taken legal measures against those responsible for the incident and referred them to justice to receive their deterrent punishment.

The committee indicated that among the measures taken was the dismissal of the provincial security director and a number of security leaders in the province who are related to the incident.

Deputy Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Committee Major General Abdul Majeed Al-Murtada explained that immediately after the incident, the ministry began to take many measures against those responsible for the incident, who do not represent in this behavior except themselves.

He stressed that the leadership of the Ministry of Interior will not
tolerate the right of anyone who causes any harm to citizens, and that it is keen to carry out its tasks of preserving the lives, security and property of citizens.

For his part, the governor of Al-Bayda, Abdullah Idris, explained that the committee began to count the damages, noting that the leader directed the payment of blood money and compensation for all damages, including the construction of houses of those affected in the incident.

He stressed that the judiciary will take action against those responsible for the incident, and that the local authority stands by the security services in the measures taken in response to the incident.

Governor Idris pointed to the keenness of notables, sheikhs and people of the region to maintain security and stability, and not to allow anyone who tries to exploit the incident to serve the purposes of aggression and its plans aimed at targeting security, disturbing public tranquility and harming the home front.

In turn, Dhamar Governor – Committee member Mohammed Al-B
ukhaiti expressed condolences to the families of the victims, stressing that the incident left a great impact on the hearts of state leaders and all Yemeni people.

He pointed out that what happened represents a loss for the Yemeni people, who are steadfast jihadists, who confront the attempts of aggression and its tools to exploit what happened to achieve malicious purposes that all people are aware of.

The families of the victims, and the notables and sheikhs of the directorate expressed their thanks to the leader for his great interest in the incident and his continuous follow-up of its developments. Appreciating the role of the Committee and its keenness to punish the perpetrators and redress the damage.

They stressed their keenness to enhance security and stability and that they will not be part of what the aggression promotes about the details of the incident.

Ministry of Transport: More than four thousand ships crossed Red Sea during January 11 – March 19


A source at the Ministry of Transport confirmed that the number of ships that sailed through the Red and Arabian Sea safely reached more than four thousand commercial ships through international shipping lines, with the exception of Israeli, American and British ships.

The source explained to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that according to the statistics of the Ministry’s Regional Maritime Center, the number of ships that passed through the Red Sea reached four thousand and 591 ships during the period from January 11 to March 19, 2024.

The source reiterated the Republic of Yemen’s keenness on the safety and security of navigation in the Arabian and Red Sea, the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Indian Ocean, including ships passing through Good Hope, with the exception of Israeli, American and British ships.

The Ministry of Transport called on international shipping line companies to cooperate in order to maintain the safety and security of maritime navigation.

Reviewing needs of Magrabah Directorate in Hajjah


Branch Directors of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs in Hajjah, Allan Fadhil, and the Health Office, Dr. Ahmed Al-Kahlani, were briefed on the needs of the Magrabah Directorate in a number of sectors.

They, along with the Director of the OCHA Office in the province, Anastasia Gorbatova, the Director of the Directorate, Ali Kamel, the Humanitarian Affairs Officer, Ayman Noman, and the United Nations Fund Coordinators, Abdullah Al-Haddad and Food Security, Khaled Al-Shuwai, were briefed on the Directorate’s needs in the sectors of health, water, environmental sanitation, and food security.

During the visit, Fadhil and Al-Kahlani stressed the need to quickly submit an assessment of the need to begin working to alleviate the people’s suffering of the district and meet their needs.

For his part, the Director of the Directorate praised the keenness of the leadership of the Supreme Council and the province to address the concerns and needs of the people of the Directorate.

In turn, the United Nations
team appreciated the efforts of the province’s leadership and the Supreme Council in facilitating their field visits to the directorate to see its needs.

The team confirmed its readiness to support the directorate’s needs during the current year and to begin interventions as soon as grants are available.

Meeting in Amran discusses local water and sanitation corporation performance


A meeting in Amran province headed by Governor Dr. Faisal Jaman, discussed local water and sanitation corporation performance in the province.

The meeting, which was attended by the Deputy Governor, Amin Faras, and members of the Board of Directors, reviewed a report presented by the Foundation’s Director, Nabil Zaid Al-Houthi, on the projects implemented and under implementation within the plan for the current year 1445 AH, amounting to more than 443 billion in the water and sanitation sectors.

At the meeting, Governor Jaman stressed the importance of benefiting from the solar energy system to operate water pumps from the corporation’s wells, which contributes to alleviating the suffering of citizens in light of the aggression and siege.

He pointed to the keenness to improve the performance of the local water and sanitation corporation, improve its services, and develop revenues to ensure the expansion of its services in providing potable water and disposing of wastewater.

He urged the Governor of Amran
to redouble efforts in implementing plans and projects related to water and sanitation networks in the city of Amran, especially the areas that were not reached by the corporation’s services.

Discussing progress of ‘Yemen is Able’ project’s activities in Hajjah


A meeting was held in Hajjah to discuss the progress of ‘Yemen is Able’ project’s activities in building the capabilities of civil society organizations and youth in the province.

The meeting reviewed what was implemented in the project implemented by the Istijabah Relief and Development Foundation with support from the European Union in partnership with the ZOA Organization in coordination with the branch of the Supreme Council for the Administration and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

The meeting, in the presence of the Deputy Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office, Abdul Rahman Al-Mukhtar, the directors of the relevant departments in the Council branch, the Planning and Labor Offices, and representatives of the Istijabah Foundation, touched on the civil society organizations component, evaluating project proposals in this aspect, and selecting the grant winners.

He reviewed the objectives of the grant program, the evaluation, selection and post-selection stages, training on grant manageme
nt, post-evaluation of the impact of capacity building, and future activities of the civil society organizations component.

The meeting also reviewed the youth component and the goal of the youth grants program, those targeted for in-kind grants, and those participating in additional training on small grants management.

Bodies funeral of four martyrs of nation and armed forces in Sana’a


In a solemn funeral procession, the bodies of four martyrs of the nation and the armed forces who were martyred on the fronts of honor and heroism were buried in Sana’a .

Where martyrs’ bodies , Major Muhammad Muhammad al-Junaid, First Lieutenant Fouad Abdullah Jubran, Second Lieutenant Saddam Shuei al-Masoudi, and Second Lieutenant Waddah Ali Zaid were held, the funeral procession took place.

Official funeral ceremonies were held for the bodies of the martyrs, in which the Deputy Prime Minister of the caretaker government for National Vision Affairs, Mahmoud Al-Junaid, the Director of the Human Resources Assessment Department, Brigadier General Abdulaziz Salah, the Director of the Survey Department, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Khaiwani, the Deputy Director of the Retirement Department, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Husseini, and a number of social figures participated, colleagues and relatives of the martyrs.

The funeral ceremony took place for the martyrs, whose bodies were draped with the republican flag, a
fter prayers were offered for them at the People’s Mosque in the capital secretariat, so that the wealthy man could be buried in his hometown.

Sewing center to empower, support families of martyrs, poor in in Sana’a opened


The Sewing center was opened in Bani Hashish district in Sana’a province to empower and support the families of martyrs and needy and poor.

The center that supported by a community initiative and support from the General Authority for Zakat includes a sewing laboratory and training halls.

The center aims to qualify and train female enrollees in the fields of sewing, embroidery and knitting as a first stage.

Zakat Authority office director in Sana’a Abdulwahab al-Tuhaif explained that the center will contribute to providing a source of income for the trainees and beneficiaries, especially in light of the current conditions resulting from the aggression and siege.

He stressed that the Authority’s keenness to support and empower all segments of society to be active in the success of the economic battle and achieving self-sufficiency in various aspects of life.
