Killing WCK personnel latest evidence of occupation’s breaches — Saudi diplomat


NEW YORK, The permanent representative of Saudi Arabia to the UN Ambassador Abdulaziz Al-Wasel has declared that the recent killing of World Central Kitchen (WCK) personnel was a new evidence of the recurring occupation Israeli entity’s violations in the relief field.

Ambassador Al-Wasel was addressing a session of the Security Council held late on Friday in response to a request by Algeria to discuss the situation in Gaza in aftermath of the death of seven WCK workers in Israeli air strikes in the strip.

Speaking on behalf of the Arab group, Ambassador Al-Wasel said the world should not stand silent vis a vis such recurring Israeli offensives noting that the incident is a dangerous precedence that breaches international norms.

He expressed the Arab group’s condemnation of such crimes, stressing that “this massacre constitutes new evidence to condemn the genocide carried out by the occupation government in the military operations in Gaza strip.” He called for an international probe into circumstances of th
is incident that happened despite recurring international calls to cease the attacks.

For his part, the Palestinian delegate Riad Mansour said the incident is not forgivable. “The Israeli entity has been killing those who treat, rescue and offer aid and relief ..”

Malaysia Welcomes UNHRC call to stop arms sales to Israel


KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia has welcomed the resolution of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), which calls on all States to cease the sale, transfer and diversion of arms, munitions, and other military equipment to Israel. “The resolution’s adoption aligns with Malaysia’s consistent advocacy for the UN Human Rights Council to uphold its charter-mandated duty to protect Palestinians from Israel’s unlawful and prolonged occupation, apartheid policies, and the exposure to severe human rights abuses, including crimes against humanity, genocide, and war crimes,” the Malaysian Foreign Ministry said in a statement late on Friday It also urged all States to ensure that Israel meets its obligations under international law, including the effective implementation of this resolution.

Malaysia reaffirmed its dedication to the Palestinian cause and will persist in its efforts to achieve an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, founded on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and seeks f
ull membership of Palestine.

OIC acclaims UNHRC resolutions supporting Palestine


JEDDAH, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has acclaimed the resolutions taken by the UN Human Rights Council regarding Palestine and lauded states that had voted in favor of the decisions affirming that this stand mirrors international unanimity in support of the Palestinian people’s rights.

The OIC in a statement late on Friday indicated that the resolutions depicted rejection of the continuing crimes perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces including the military operations, the systematic terrorism, the colonial settlements’ construction, the racial cleansing and the genocides, executed against the Palestinian people.

It affirmed the necessity of executing the council’s resolutions immediately, urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility and take practical steps to stop the Israeli crimes, ensure accountability, exact justice and secure protection of the Palestinian people.

The UNHRC in a session on Friday issued resolutions affirming the Palestinian people’s rights to sel
f-determination and establishing an independent state.
