Housing authority signs USD 42 mln contracts to construct public buildings in Al-Metlaa


The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has signed two contracts to construct public buildings in the new Al-Metlaa residential district worth KD 42.468 million (USD 140 million).

The Authority said in a statement on Wednesday that the new buildings would be constructed with high-quality materials, affirming the keenness to secure all needs for the citizens while moving to their newly built houses in the region.

The facilities will include nurseries, stores, two schools in addition to various other shops.

Currently, the authority is executing several projects including a medical center, a supermarket, a police station, a municipal building, a postal office and others.

Electric power has been connected to 109 buildings in the district, it said, indicating at the ongoing work to build all necessary facilities for the new residential district, one of the latest mega housing projects in Kuwait.

Al-Metlaa, with some hilly sites, is located to the north of Kuwait City.

Nazaha adds financial disclosure data in Sahel app. – spokesperson


Sahel government application announced on Wednesday that Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) has included a number of data relating to persons subject to the provisions of financial disclosure (Law No. 2 of 2016).

In a statement for KUNA, Sahel application spokesperson Yousif Kathem said that these data would only be shown to the people subjected to the provisions of financial disclosure in the application under the (Nazaha) button in the first page.

56 deaths recorded in Gaza in 24 hours

Gaza: The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported 56 deaths and 89 injuries in 24 hours due to 6 massacres perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces in the Gaza Strip.

According to the Ministry’s daily statistical report, marking the 194th day of Israeli aggression against Gaza, many victims remain trapped under the rubble or on roads inaccessible to ambulance and civil defense crews.

The death toll since the commencement of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on October 7 has reached a devastating figure, with 33,899 fatalities recorded and 76,664 individuals left injured, as confirmed by the Ministry.

WAJ removes water attacks in southern Amman

Amman: Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) said its inspection workers, in cooperation with Public Security Directorate (PSD), seized new attacks on water infrastructure in south of the capital Amman’s Giza District, Al-Laban area.

According to a Ministry of Water statement on Wednesday, the attack was carried out on a main 5-inch diameter pipepline, using a 3-inch fixture to siphon off water to illegally irrigate farms and agricultural ponds, which “greatly” affected shares of a number of areas in southern Amman.

The ministry indicated that these fixtures were disconnected, adding that infrastructure was restored to normal and equipment was seized.

The ministry noted it will also transfer the case and identify ownership of the land plots and ponds to the judiciary to arrest violators and take legal action at courts.

The statement also valued the PSD’s support and cooperation for their continued collaboration in providing all capabilities to enable the ministry’s workers to carry out their duties.

ly, the ministry hailed citizens’ cooperation, who daily report attempts to attack Jordan’s water networks or dig wells, stressing that there will be “no laxity” in implementing provisions of the law.

Safadi launches ‘Knights of Change’ Palestine blood donation campaign

Amman: Lower House Speaker, Ahmed Safadi, referred to Jordan’s support to Palestinian people, driven by the “duty of conscience,” adding that Jordan fully backed their steadfastness at the official and popular levels.

Safadi made the remarks while launching “Knights of Change” blood donation campaign for Palestine and Gaza Strip Wednesday, in 22 locations in the Kingdom’s various governorates.

During the launching ceremony, Safadi said the campaign is one of the steps aimed to support Gaza Strip, noting that His Majesty King Abdullah II personally took part in the relief airdrops in Gaza.

He also referred to similar efforts of His Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II and Her Highness Princess Salma bint Abdullah II, noting that Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah provided important content in highlighting facts at international public opinion.

The organization announced start of the national campaign, under the theme “Our
Blood is Your Blood” to donate blood for Palestine, in coordination with Ministry of Health and National Bllod Bank, according to its statement.

Meanwhile, the organization’s president and founder, Issam Masaeed, said the campaign affirms support to Gaza people, which is in line with Jordan’s “firm and deep-rooted” positions towards the Palestinian cause and continues activities of previous initiatives.

Arab Parliament: Palestinian cause is being subjected to systematic, deliberate liquidation attempts

Cairo: The Palestinian cause is being subjected to systematic and deliberate liquidation attempts, said Adel Al-Asomi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament and Chairman of the Parliament’s Palestine Committee, on Wednesday.

During a committee meeting at the Arab Parliament’s General Secretariat in Cairo, Al-Asomi emphasized the Arab Parliament’s continued efforts and international, regional, and parliamentary endeavors to support the Palestinian cause until the Palestinian people achieve their legitimate rights to return, freedom, and the establishment of their state, in accordance with the two-state solution.

The Arab Parliament’s Palestine Committee called on the international community to adopt a unified position in contrast to the shameful state of silence towards what the Palestinian territories are witnessing.

The committee underlined its rejection of any attempts to displace or forcibly displace the Palestinian people, which are illegal under international law.

The committee discussed the occupation enti
ty’s violations of Palestinian natural resources and maritime areas through the exploration of Palestinian natural resources in light of the ongoing war.

FM, Borrell stress importance of reaching ‘immediate’ ceasefire in Gaza

New York: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, stressed priority of reaching an “immediate” ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ending the humanitarian catastrophe facing the strip.

The duo also stressed necessity of orchestrating all efforts to stop the dangerous escalation taking place in the region, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

In a phone call Wednesday, Safadi and Borrell warned of the dangerous repercussions of the continued standoff in inability to reach a ceasefire in Gaza.

The FM and Borrell stressed continuation of joint work to stop the Gaza war, bring in aid, and launch a “true” effort to implement the two-state solution.

Safadi stressed that “Jordan will not allow any party to turn the Kingdom into a war zone, and will confront any violation of its airspace and a threat to its security and the safety of its citizens, whether the source
of the threat is Israel or Iran.”

FM stressed the need to prevent the Israeli Prime Minister from using escalation with Iran to divert attention away from the disaster represented by the war on Gaza and drag the West into a regional war with Iran to serve his agenda.

Meanwhile, Borrell stressed support for Jordan’s position, which constitutes “a pillar of the region’s security and stability,” adding that the European Union supports the Kingdom’s efforts to stop war on Gaza, bring “sufficient and sustainable” humanitarian aid to all parts of the strip, and reduce escalation in the region.

Safadi and Borrell discussed preparations for holding Jordanian-European partnership meetings, stressing the common interest in developing this bid.

Jordan, Mexico sign customs cooperation agreement

Mexico: Jordan’s Ambassador to the United Mexican States, Adli Qasem Alkhaledi, signed on Sunday the agreement on “customs co-operation and mutual assistance” between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the United Mexican States.

The agreement was signed on the Mexican side by the head of the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM), André Georges Foullon Van Lissum.

The signing of the agreement is part of the presentation ceremony of the report “Mexico’s Relations with Arab Countries,” which was sponsored by the Mexican Foreign Minister as part of enhancing the close bilateral relations between the Kingdom and Mexico.

Mexican Foreign Minister Alicia B?rcena Ibarra and Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development V?ctor Manuel Villalobos Ar?mbula attended the signing ceremony, which took place at the Mexican Foreign Ministry’s headquarters.
