Al-Karkh Criminal Court: Death penalty and life imprisonment for the killers of the two girls (Aya and Fatima)

The Karkh Criminal Court sentenced today, Sunday, the killers of the two girls (Aya and Fatima) to death and life imprisonment.

The Supreme Judicial Council stated in a statement, “The Karkh Criminal Court issued death sentences and life imprisonment against three convicts who kidnapped and killed the two girls (Aya and Fatima) and bargained with their families for large sums of money in the Al-Shaab area, Ur neighborhood.”

The statement added, “The court issued a death sentence against two convicts for the crime of killing the victims after tying them up and putting them in a bag, which led to their death.”

He added, “Another ruling was issued against a third convict to life imprisonment for the crime of covering up convicts in his home and not informing the security authorities despite his knowledge of the kidnapping and murder.”

The statement continued, “The ruling was issued against the convicts in accordance with the provisions of Article Four/1 and within the meaning of Article Two/8 of the Anti-Terrorism Law, while the third ruling was issued against him in accordance with the provisions of Article Four/2 of the Anti-Terrorism Law.”
