Al-Maliki discusses political developments with Singaporean counterpart

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Riyad al-Maliki met today with his Singapoeran counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan on the sideline of the UN General Assembly’s 76th session in New York, and discussed with him the latest developments in Palestine.

Al-Maliki briefed his Singaporean counterpart on the ongoing Israeli violations in occupied Palestine, including house demolitions, forced expulsions, field executions and arbitrary arrests, the siege of Gaza, and the daily attacks committed by Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians.

The two foreign ministers discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations in various fields, and agreed during the meeting on the need to exchange visits.

In turn, Minister Balakrishnan welcomed Al-Maliki’s invitation for him to visit Palestine, stressing his country’s firm position in support of the two-state solution and the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
