Anti-Fraud Conference In The Middle East 2023 Kicks Off

The activities of the Anti-Fraud Conference in the Middle East 2023, hosted by the UAE, kicked off yesterday, under the auspices of the Ministry of Finance and in partnership with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

More than 300 fraud experts and specialists from various sectors in the Middle East region will participate in the conference, which will continue until May 9 at the Fairmont Palm Hotel in Dubai, to discuss the latest trends, tools and techniques used in the fields of fraud detection and response.

The conference activities began with an opening speech delivered by Maryam Mohammed Al- Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for Government Financial Management Sector at the Ministry of Finance, during which she welcomed the participants in the conference and expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) for choosing the UAE to host the event, praising their efforts to implement sustainable initiatives and provide safe work environments.

The activities of the first day of the conference included two panel discussions, the first entitled “Transformation of Operational Operations and its Impact on the Financial Sector”, and the second entitled “Managing Fraud Risks within Sustainability Initiatives”, a discussion session on the development of fraud in global financial markets, and an optional session on how to pass an investigative test.

The activities of the second day will include a seminar entitled “Harnessing the technological capabilities to address fraud”, and a panel discussion entitled “Addressing the challenges of compliance and professional ethics related to combating fraud, in addition to a workshop on the methods of work of fraudsters and the difference between “traditional” fraud and “electronic” fraud.
