Autopsy to be performed Wednesday on body of Palestinian killed in cold-blood by Israeli soldiers

JERUSALEM– The body of 21-year-old slain Palestinian Mohammad Ibrahim Shaham, who was shot dead last week at close range by a special Israeli army force after breaking into his family home in Kufr Aqab neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem, was transferred today to Israel’s Abu Kabir Forensic Institute to undergo an autopsy this upcoming Wednesday.

The body of Shaham was transferred to Israel’s Abu Kabir Forensic Institute after his family succeeded in securing an Israeli court order to perform an autopsy on his body to find out the reasons behind his death.

Jerusalemite lawyer and legal expert Medhat Thiba said the autopsy will be performed in the presence of Palestinian forensic expert, Ashraf al-Qadi. He noted that they will start another legal battle to retrieve his body after the autopsy is completed.

The family of Shaham has filed two cases surrounding his assassination; the first to investigate the circumstances of his death, and the second related to the retrieving of his body for burial in Qalandia.

They will be allowed to see their slain son before the autopsy is performed.
