Cancellation of the so-called Flag March focus of dailies

The three Palestinian Arabic-language dailies focused today on the Israeli police’s cancellation of the so-called Flag March, which was scheduled to take place in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem next Thursday.

They said Israeli police cancelled the annual massive settler Flag March, which celebrates the occupation of the eastern part of Jerusalem in 1967.

Reporting on a different, subject, the three dailies said the Israeli occupation forces demolished 10 Palestinian-owned residential structures near the city of Jericho in the occupied West Bank.

The dailies said the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) affirmed yesterday it was continuing its efforts to ensure the implementation of the international resolutions on the Palestinian cause.

Al-Ayyam said the Israeli occupation army detained 19 Palestinians during a wide-scale detention campaign in the occupied West Bank.

Al-Hayat al-Jadida said Prime Minister met yesterday with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Haman Al Thani, and discussed with him the situation in occupied Jerusalem and the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.

Al-Quds said the Emir of Qatar confirmed his support for the Palestinian people in their struggle to achieve their inalienable rights.

The three dailies said that illegal Israeli settlers embarked yesterday on razing an ancient quarter in the Old City of Hebron, in the south of the occupied West Bank.

Al-Ayyam said Egypt sent yesterday invitations to the Palestinian factions to start a new round of intra-Palestinian national dialogue in Cairo as of Saturday.
