Five people die of COVID-19 in Palestine in the last 24 hours as 2466 new cases recorded

Five people have died of coronavirus in Palestine in the last 24 hours as 2466 new cases were recorded in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila in her daily report on the pandemic in Palestine.

She said three people died in the Gaza Strip, which recorded 1364 new cases and 321 recoveries, while two people died in the West Bank where 1102 new cases were recorded and 421 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

Alkaila said 135 people are getting treatment for the disease in hospitals and 50 are in intensive care, while eight patients are on ventilators.

The Health Minister said 688,802 people (40.8 percent) have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in the West Bank and 246,954 (19.5 percent) in the Gaza Strip.
