FM: Cold-blooded murder of 3 Palestinians is Israel’s response for de-escalation demands ahead of Biden’s visit

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates vehemently condemned today the cold-blooded murder of three Palestinian youth by Israeli occupation forces in Jenin last night, saying the Israeli crime represents Israel’s official response to the US calls for de-escalation ahead of the visit of President Joe Biden next month.

Yousef Nasser Salah, 23, Baraa Lahlouh, 24, and Laith Abu Srour, 24, were inside a civilian vehicle when they were ambushed and shot dead in cold blood by an undercover Israeli army force which raided the eastern neighborhood of the city of Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank, after midnight.

“This hideous crime is an episode in Israel’s efforts to export the crises of the ruling coalition to the Palestinian arena and trying to solve them at the expense of Palestinian right and blood,” said the Foreign Ministry in a statement. “This is an integral part of Israel’s official policy aimed at exploding the situation and bringing about an explosion and chaos.”

The statement denounced “the insistence of the international community and countries that celebrate human rights on ignoring Israel’s crimes and the daily violations committed against defenseless Palestinian citizens, which amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.”

The Foreign Ministry urged the Secretary-General of the United Nations “to activate the international protection mechanism for the Palestinian people living under occupation, as an indispensable premise to enable our people to enjoy their right to self-determination and to embody their independent state with occupied Jerusalem as its capital.”

The Ministry also called on the International Criminal Court to assume its responsibilities and expedite its investigations into the crimes of the Israeli occupation and its settlers against our people.
