Health minister says 108 new corona cases, 2 deaths recorded in 24 hours in Palestine and 29 Delta cases

Palestinian Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 108 new coronavirus cases and two deaths were recorded in Palestine in the last 24 hours as 29 new cases of the Indian Delta variant have tested positive in the West Bank.

She said the two deaths were recorded in the Gaza Strip where 96 of the new cases were recorded and 105 patients recovered, while only 12 new corona cases were recorded in the West Bank and nine recovered.

Alkaila said 11 corona patients are still in hospitals, as six are in intensive care. No one is on a ventilator.

Alkaila said in a later statement that 29 new cases of the Delta variant were today confirmed in the West Bank, which brings the total Delta cases so far to 49.

As for number of people vaccinated against the corona disease, the minister said 527,888 people got the vaccination in the West Bank and Gaza, and 379,591 got two shots of the vaccine.
