Israeli authorities to release body of Palestinian mother killed by Israeli forces

The Israeli occupation authorities today decided to release the body of a Palestinian young woman, who was shot and killed by Israeli forces at Qalandia checkpoint, to the north of occupied Jerusalem, on June 12.

The General Authority for Civil Affairs announced that the body of Ibtisam Ka’abneh, 27, will be handed over today at 5:00 pm.

Kaabneh, a mother of a child from Aqbat Jabr camp in Jericho, was left bleeding on the ground before she was pronounced dead.

She was arrested by the Israeli occupation authorities in 2015 and kept in prison for 18 months.

“Israel’s policy on this matter is causing the families of the deceased untold suffering. Their inability to bury their loved ones makes it difficult to part with them and come to terms with their death, as well as to practice religious and traditional death rituals,” said the Israeli information center for human rights in occupied territories, B’Tselem.
