Israeli colonists storm archaeological site in Hebron-area, perform Talmudic rituals

HEBRON: Dozens of Israeli colonists, backed by Israeli forces, broke into the al-Karmil archaeological site in the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, today and performed Talmudic rituals in the area, according to local sources

Sources informed WAFA that the occupation forces closed all entrances to the archaeological site and took over the rooftops of residents’ homes to secure the entry of colonists to conduct Talmudic rituals in the area.

The al-Karmel area contains a park that was established by the Hebron municipality and an archaeological water pool used for livestock watering and rainwater harvesting. The collected water is used by farmers for irrigating crops.

In the meantime, a group of colonists stormed an area in the western part of Husan village to the west of Bethlehem, in the southern occupied West Bank, and performed religious rituals there.

The area has been subjected to repeated Israeli violations by colonists for the past three days.
