Israeli municipality issues order to demolish mosque in occupied Jerusalem

The Israeli municipality issued today a decision to demolish a mosque in Isawiyya neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem.

According to WAFA correspondent in Jerusalem, the municipality notified caretakers of the al-Taqwa mosque, which is under construction, of the demolition order.

The municipality’s order states that the mosque, which is being constructed on an area of about 300 square meters, must be demolished within 15 days from the date of issuing the decision, under the pretext of not having a license.

Municipality staff, on January 3, placed a notice to stop construction works in the mosque.
