Israeli settlers attack, injure two Palestinians in West Bank

Israeli settlers today evening attacked and injured two Palestinians, including an elderly, in the West Bank cities of Bethlehem and Hebron.

In Bethlehem, Raja Abayat, 68, from Kisan village, east of Bethlehem, was wounded in the head after settlers, under the protection of Israeli army soldiers, attacked him while he was working in his land.

Youth activist Ahmed Ghazal told WAFA that a group of settlers from the illegal Israeli settlement of Ibi Hanahel attacked Abayat with clubs as well as pepper-sprayed him.

The elderly sustained a deep wound in his head and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

To be noted, settlers had previously set up a tent on Abayat’s land in an attempt to take over it, and when he tried to confront them and kick them out of his land they attacked him.

Meanwhile, Ali Abu Aram, a shepherd from Yatta, south of Hebron suffered bruises after settlers attacked him while he was grazing his sheep in Masafer Yatta area to the south of Hebron.
