KRCS delivers food, medical supplies to affected families in Khartoum

Kuwait Red Crescent Society announced Friday that it delivered food and medical supplies to families in Khartoum in coordination with the Qatari and Sudanese red crescent societies.

In a statement to (KUNA), Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer said that supplies distributed among families using schools as shelters included 1,750 food baskets, relief materials, 2,000 ready-made meals for travelers, and 1,500 health materials for those departing from Port Sudan.

He pointed that relief supplies reach the beneficiaries directly, in coordination with the Sudanese Red Crescent in Khartoum, which supports international efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the needy.

Al-Sayyer expressed deep thanks and appreciation to the Ministries of Defense, represented by the Air Force, Foreign Affairs and Health, for their efforts in delivering aid to the brothers in Sudan.

He indicated that cooperation with the Qatari and Sudanese red crescent socities is the result of the cooperation agreements that emanated from the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization and the recommendations of the GCC General Secretariat.

Al-Sayer added that this support to brotherly Sudan is based on the directives of the supreme leadership and the fraternal relations that bind the peoples of the two brotherly countries.

He stressed Kuwait’s commitment to providing humanitarian support and contributing to international efforts aimed at alleviating the human suffering of the Sudanese people as a result of their current difficult conditions.
